This year, I attended my first St. Patrick’s Day Parade while visiting my family in Colorado over spring break. I anticipated the event to be lacking of actual Irish culture, but I was delightfully surprised to see the opposite. The entire parade consisted of American Irishmen displaying different parts of their native culture. Bagpipes and young girls dancing in traditional Irish style flooded the streets of downtown Denver. My favorite part of the event was seeing the diversity in the crowd. While we were all there to celebrate an Irish holiday, there were people of all origins in attendance.
